{"id":81,"date":"2015-07-16T14:11:43","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T14:11:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aciref.rc.fas.harvard.edu\/?page_id=81"},"modified":"2015-07-16T14:11:43","modified_gmt":"2015-07-16T14:11:43","slug":"what-we-do","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/aciref.chpc.utah.edu\/?page_id=81","title":{"rendered":"What We Do"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<b>What is a facilitator? <\/b> Versus other Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (ACI)-related roles, a key component of facilitation is to assist researchers in leveraging ACI resources for themselves, rather than performing research tasks on ACI systems for or as a contributor to a specific research project.<\/p>\n<p>While many facilitators spend their time on a variety of tasks that are essential to providing ACI resources to research communities, the activities of facilitation are best represented in the below items.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>See the <a href=\"..\/facilitation\">facilitation resources page<\/a> for more facilitation resources, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/aci-ref.github.io\/facilitation_leading_practices\/\">ACI-REF Leading Leading Practices of Facilitation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>See the <a href=\"https:\/\/aciref.org\/category\/experience\/\">ACI-REF blog<\/a> for hands-on stories about the practice of facilitation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<th>RESEARCH SUPPORT<\/th>\n<th>EDUCATION AND TRAINING<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"50%\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aciref.chpc.utah.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/blog-brain-colors.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-191 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/aciref.chpc.utah.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/blog-brain-colors-300x166.png\" alt=\"blog-brain-colors\" width=\"189\" height=\"134\" \/><\/a>ACI-REF facilitators work closely with researchers to better understand their goals and practices, so they can better evaluate their technology needs and recommend appropriate solutions that allow them to take full advantage of the ACI resources available.
